CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A new marketing campaign from the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau aims to highlight four “pillars” of tourism in the city — art, food, music and recreation.
The CVB unveiled its “From the Hip” campaign during an event at Black Sheep Burrito and Brews restaurant Monday evening.
The campaign supports and extends the city’s existing “Hip, Historic, Almost Heaven” slogan, said Alisa Bailey, president and CEO of the CVB. Bailey said the campaign draws attention to what the city already offers.
“We are already a community full of artists — performing artists, great food, great recreation,” she said. “This will just allow us to put a name to it and a recognition, an exclamation point to say, when you come to Charleston these are the things that we promise you won’t be disappointed … [we’ll] really exceed your expectation.”
