Charleston papers unveil new WV jobs website

WVjobfinder logo CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston Newspapers has launched a new website designed to connect job seekers and state employers with open positions.

WVJobfinder.com debuted Wednesday morning.

John Kelly, vice president of advertising for Charleston Newspapers, said the new site will fill a niche in the state’s labor market. He said the more popular national job listing websites tend to be too broad-based and don’t do a good job matching workers with employers in a smaller region.

“We feel that the large national job boards such as Monster and CareerBuilder are not tailored to the needs of West Virginians,” Kelly said. “WVJobFinder.com focuses exclusively on the needs and opportunities within the state of West Virginia.”

The site stands to feature the most up-to-date job openings with the state’s leading employers, plus it will give job seekers the ability to search only for open positions near where they live…
