MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Board of Governors (BOG) met to discuss Board seat reelections, the approval of Fiscal Year 26 budget and tuition increase, a partnership with Blue and Gold Inc., termination of the Sodexo contract and more during a regular meeting, Friday.

Richard Pill, BOG chairman, Patrice Harris, vice chair, and Robert Reynolds, secretary, will all end their terms in their respective roles effective June 30.

The board nominated Pill to continue in his role as chair and he accepted the nomination. Steven Ruby countered the recommendation with the nomination of Robert ‘Rusty’ Hutson, despite only being an active board member for one year.

Frances “Frankie” Tack accused Ruby of disregarding Pill’s service to the board by his nomination.

“I guess there’s a sort of elephant in the room here by implication that the current chair, who by practice, has been nominated and elected for a second consecutive year, by practice for a long, long time, is serving ineffectively,” Tack said.
