CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Verizon Communications Inc. and Frontier Communications Parent Inc. have filed a joint application with the West Virginia Public Service Commission for Verizon to acquire Frontier.
The deal would give Verizon complete control of Frontier West Virginia Inc., Citizens Telecommunications Co. of West Virginia, and other Frontier subsidiaries operating in the state.
The application argues that West Virginia consumers will see significant advantages from the acquisition. Verizon’s experience in building advanced networks and its commitment to offering choices are highlighted as key benefits. Additionally, Verizon’s financial resources are expected to improve the existing Frontier fiber and copper network infrastructure, according to the filing.
