40 years of the WV Pumpkin Festival: Fan-favorite event returns next month

MILTON — In its 40th year, the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival continues to bring giant pumpkins, family and educational activities, local artisans and more to the community.

The four-day event will return next month from Thursday to Sunday, Oct. 2-5, at One Pumpkin Way, Milton. This year’s theme is “Gourdy, Gourdy Look Who’s 40.”

Cindy Hinkle, president of the Pumpkin Festival board, said the annual event has something for everyone.

Some attractions include an arts and crafts tent; Ron and Debi’s Petting Zoo, which will include a camel for the first time; a hay maze; a blacksmith shop; axe throwing; live entertainment; apple butter; live chainsaw carving; food vendors and live glass blowing.
