CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Inauguration of West Virginia’s 36th Governor, Jim Justice, and six other elected officials will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, on the South Plaza of the State Capitol.

MEDIA ACCESS: The only camera and microphone allowed on the podium during the Inaugural Ceremony will be the live feed broadcast equipment. Media with technical difficulties or questions about coordinates, please contact Chuck Roberts at (304) 556-4939. Credentialed media will also be given space on the South Lawn to record B-roll and stand-ups on a first-come, first-served basis.
A video feed will be available from West Virginia Public Broadcasting for pick-up via satellite and YouTube. Both feeds will be clean (no graphics) and captioned.

PUBLIC ACCESS: The ceremony is free and open to the public. Seating will be available on South Plaza. Umbrellas are prohibited on the South Plaza, and large bags and coolers are subject to search.
PARKING: Public parking will be available at the Capitol in the parking garage on Greenbrier Street and at the parking lot beside Laidlely Field. A shuttle will be available between Laidley and the Capitol. Kanawha Boulevard will be closed from Greenbrier Street to California Street.
RECEIVING LINE: Those who plan to greet the Governor and First Lady in the receiving line will need to enter the Lower Rotunda through the security checkpoint on the California Avenue side of the Capitol. Large bags will be subject to search.
