FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The high schools of Marion County will be getting some new technology, as approved by the Board of Education Monday evening.

The board members approved a motion for the purchase of probes from PASCO Scientific, which will be used in classes in STEM departments for a multitude of data collection and graphing uses.

“It has been a very very long time since they’ve gotten any update in equipment,” Kathy Jacquez, curriculum and instruction coordinator for Marion County Schools, said. “They are wireless, they will work on students’ phones, computers of iPads depending on whatever device you have. They’ve got a graphing program in them, so you can graph all your data as you take it.”
