West Virginia State Police superintendent discusses footage of teen beating

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Investigation into video of the recent arrest of a 16-year-old male suspect that calls into question the actions of state troopers continues this week.

West Virginia State Police Superintendent J.L. Cahill spoke in an interview on West Virginia MetroNews’ Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval about parts of the in-car dashcam footage being reviewed by multiple agencies.

Cahill said last Wednesday the State Police became aware of and watched the video, which “immediately” raised excessive force questions and “swift” action were taken.
