BLUEFIELD. W.Va. — Officials in McDowell and Tazewell were elated Thursday to learn that West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s family coal business, Bluestone Resources, would be hiring hundreds of new miners in both counties.
The 290 new jobs will be created at Keystone Surface Mine, in McDowell County, and Bishop Surface Mine, in Tazewell County, Va., according to a press release issued by the company.
“We are looking for quality workers to operate all types of machinery, and we’re offering great wages and benefits,” said Jay Justice, son of Jim Justice, who operates the mines for Justice Companies. “We are excited about the opportunities we have available and are looking to hire right away.”
