Kavanaugh may be a factor in November. But West Virginians have more on their minds.

BECKLEY, W.Va. — There’s been a lot of talk, nationally, about whether Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation would enthuse voters on either side of the political aisle. Stories have focused, at times, on a gender split, with more women opposing the nomination and more men supporting, according to national polls.

West Virginians, as they oftentimes do, have their own story.

“They were already pretty enthusiastic,”  said Mark Blankenship, president of a Charleston polling and public relations firm.
