RANSON, W.Va. — The construction site for Ranson’s Rockwool facility was recently received citations for six violations of a stormwater-discharge permit.
The Rockwool facility will produce stone wool used in building insulation for housing and other industrial projects. The company has been a controversial topic as of late.
The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection conducted a site inspection and issued a notice of violation Sept. 11. Rockwool officials received a certified letter from the WVDEP on Oct. 1 and were given 20 days to respond with written plans detailing the actions taken to abate the violations.
