CHARLESTON, W.Va. — State employees may be about to dodge a bullet with Gov. Jim Justice’s plan to raise PEIA premium tiers by $2,700 each, so that 5 percent pay raises that go into effect July 1 won’t bump employees into higher-cost tiers for their health insurance premiums.
However, they may not be so fortunate when it comes to parking fees, with a proposed rule change to increase state employee parking rates by 25 percent.
The proposed rule change, filed June 11 and open to public comment through July 11, would increase the monthly parking fee for state employees at the Capitol complex and all other off-campus locations with paid parking from $20 to $25.
