For WVU, Today
The Mountaineer baseball team was not ready to end their story in a rematch against the Troy Trojans. And Gavin Kelly was not ready to leave Omaha without leaving his mark.
After starting the College World Series 1-for-8, Kelly went 3-for-6, drove in 4, scored twice and did it with the flair of a 3-run home run that busted the game open in favor of the Mountaineers.
The final was 12-0 and another date with North Carolina (2 p.m. June 17) was the prize.

Reflecting on the Win
There is plenty to reflect on from the 14-hit offensive outburst that was paired nicely with a four-pitcher combined shutout. But on a sunny day in the midwest, the best way to reflect is by admiring the way light bounces around baseball’s reflective surfaces.
Most of the time, that light is bouncing off of sunglasses. But, the occasional helmet…or football visor can find a way to steal the spotlight.

Around the Grounds
Sunglasses weren’t the only thing the light kissed in Omaha. The Mountaineers came out in their blue over grey uniforms, allowing the gold piping and accessories to glow under the cirrostratus-diffused sunlight.

Lets Gomaha!
Few things represent fandom like bellowing “Let’s Go!”, pumping a fist, flexing an arm and sending energy into the atmosphere as if the team you’re pulling for can feast off of it.
Omaha has become a cornucopia of people, not just clad in gold-and-blue but fans of other teams that are there, rooting for the Mountaineers.
