Oak Hill — Women from across the region will gather at ACE Adventure Resort on Saturday, June 20, for the annual Gritty Chix Mud Run, an empowering and fun-filled obstacle course event designed to celebrate strength, determination, and camaraderie. The non-competitive event welcomes participants of all fitness levels and encourages women and girls ages 10 and older to embrace their adventurous side while getting muddy for a good cause.

Participants can choose between two course options: the one-mile “Moxie Mile” or the 5K “Tenacious Trail.” Both routes feature woodland trails, mud pits, obstacle challenges, and plenty of opportunities for laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. The event emphasizes personal achievement over competition, creating an encouraging atmosphere where participants can walk, jog, or run at their own pace.

“The Gritty Chix Mud Run is about much more than crossing a finish line,” said Lindsey Pratt, Event Coordinator at ACE Adventure Resort. “It’s about challenging yourself, supporting one another, building confidence, and having an incredible time while doing it. Whether you’re a first-timer or a returning participant, you’ll leave covered in mud and full of memories.”

In addition to promoting adventure and wellness, the Gritty Chix Mud Run is committed to supporting organizations that empower women and girls. This year’s event will benefit the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council, with a portion of event proceeds being donated to support leadership development programs, outdoor experiences, community service initiatives, and educational opportunities for girls throughout West Virginia and surrounding communities. By participating in the Gritty Chix Mud Run, runners are helping inspire the next generation of confident, courageous, and capable young women.

Race-day festivities begin with check-in opening at 9:00 a.m. and the first wave of runners starting at 11:00 a.m. After conquering the course, participants can enjoy live music, food, drinks, awards, and a post-race celebration at The Lost Paddle Bar & Grill. The afternoon entertainment lineup features MA’AM, Sasha Colette, Emmalea Deal, and additional live music throughout the evening.

Every participant receives a commemorative race medal, access to shower facilities, free parking and access to ACE Adventure Resort’s hiking trails. Special prizes will also be awarded for categories including Best Costume, Largest Team, Furthest Traveled, and Most Creative Team Name.

Located on 1,500 acres adjacent to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, ACE Adventure Resort offers participants the opportunity to turn race day into a full weekend getaway with whitewater rafting, ziplining, hiking, camping, cabins, the ACE Adventure Waterpark, and more.

Registration remains open through race day. For complete event details and registration information, visit the Gritty Chix Mud Run page at ACE Adventure Resort.
