Bridgeport – Allegheny Metallurgical will host a two-day job fair on Friday, Jan. 9, and Saturday, Jan.10, at the Bridgeport Conference Center as it seeks to expand its workforce to over 500 employees.
The job fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 10. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet members of the Allegheny Metallurgical leadership and hiring teams, learn more about the company, and be considered for current and future employment opportunities.
“With the longwall fully operational, we are continuing to expand our hiring efforts to meet our growing operational needs,” said Eric Lipinski, Chief Operating Officer at Allegheny Metallurgical. “This job fair will continue the momentum that we built in 2025 as we look to accomplish more great things in 2026.” Allegheny Metallurgical anticipates hiring for a variety of positions, including underground supervisors and equipment operators. Individuals are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and come prepared for on-site interviews.
“We pride ourselves on maintaining a team-oriented culture,” added Lipinski. “We are looking for people who want to work safely, work hard, and be part of a company where everyone is focused on finding a way to win together.”
One of the major benefits of Allegheny Metallurgical is the intentional schedule designed to create a balance that allows employees to maximize time home. The mine operates on a 28-day rotating schedule in which employees work 14 days and have 14 days off, with seven consecutive days off. Additionally, there are traditional steady day-shift positions running Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.
“At present we employ more than 400 individuals,” stated Lipinski. “We hope this job fair will be a major boost towards our goal of more than 500 employees. We look forward to meeting candidates who want a long-term career with a company that values safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.”
Allegheny Metallurgical has invested more than $1 billion in employees, its facilities, and the mine site. The longwall became fully operational in September of 2025. Allegheny Metallurgical estimates that it will produce 3.5 million metric tons annually to supply steelmakers.
The job fair is open to skilled workers, veterans, and individuals seeking stable, well-paying employment opportunities in North Central West Virginia. For more information about Allegheny Metallurgical, its benefits, and employment opportunities, visit www.alleghenymet.com.
