BELINGTON, W.Va. — Barbour Community Health Association (BCHA) proudly celebrated another successful Breast Cancer Awareness Drive-Thru Night on Thursday, October 2 at the Belington Medical Clinic, welcoming 52 cars for an evening dedicated to education, support, and community connection.
This year’s theme, “Unmask the Mystery,” continued BCHA’s tradition of blending wellness education with fun, accessible engagement. Participants drove through a series of interactive stations where they received educational materials on breast cancer prevention and screening, gift bags, and information about local health resources—all from the safety and comfort of their vehicles. Attendees also enjoyed giveaways, door prizes, and the opportunity to meet members of BCHA’s women’s health team.
“What a great opportunity for our staff to connect personally with each attendee for an evening of awareness, support, and fun,” said Debbie Schoonover, Chief Operating Officer at BCHA. “It is an inspiring event that allows us to strengthen the bond with our community.”
Now in its fifth year, the Drive-Thru Night has become one of Barbour County’s most anticipated annual health events. Originally launched during the COVID-19 pandemic as a safe way to maintain outreach, it has evolved into a signature event that embodies BCHA’s mission of accessible, compassionate care. Survivors and families were honored during the event, emphasizing the organization’s ongoing commitment to awareness and early detection.
“Events like this remind us that breast cancer awareness is not just about one night in October—it’s about year-round commitment to women’s health,” said BCHA Chief Executive Officer, Eric Ruf. “We are grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this year’s event a success.”
