Sneak peek: Woody Williams Center opens doors for a tour ahead of upcoming completion

BARBOURSVILLE — The new Woody Williams Center for Advanced Learning & Careers is slated for completion in December, opening for the spring semester in January in the space where Sears used to be in the Huntington Mall.

Students, media, administrators and public officials were invited for a tour Monday.

“I’ll be the first to tell you, I wasn’t really excited when this project started just because of the mall property and so many memories here,” Barboursville Mayor Chris Tatum said. “A lot of us spent our first dates right here in this very mall. But after having seen the vision and what’s gonna happen here, and there’s so many learning opportunities to expand for these students, and (it’s) another shot in the arm for Barboursville. I’m so proud of Tim (Hardesty), what you and your team are doing.
