FAIRMONT — A paranormal horror might rise at the Marion County Courthouse next year.

The film company Allegheny Image Factory dropped hints of film production in Weston at Wednesday’s meeting of the Marion County Commission. The Morgantown-based production company is producing an adaptation of “Seven-X,” a novel written by TV and film producer Mike Wech. According to the Amazon description, an investigative reporter commits himself into an asylum where radical experimental procedures were conducted on patients without their consent. Paranormal hijinks potentially ensue.

The project’s website has photos of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and the Marion County Courthouse. The Amazon description warns not to read the book at night.

It’s one of several projects the Allegheny Image Factory has brought or is bringing to the North Central West Virginia area and Marion County. Jeff Tinnell, who co-owns Allegheny Image Factory with his brother Bob, stopped by County Commission to talk about the economic benefits spurred by the film industry in the county. Tinnell said his company is completing production today on its seventh film since 2022 and fifth one done in the area in the last 16 months.
