Boone County’s Nowicki-Eldridge named Judge of the Year

MADISON, W.Va. — Boone County Circuit Court Judge Stacy Nowicki-Eldridge was recently named Judge of the Year by the WV Association for Justice, and it’s an honor she says she was overwhelmed by. Not only overwhelmed, but also a little speechless, which she said is a very unusual occurrence for her.

Nowicki-Eldridge viewed it as an honor beyond anything she would have ever expected in this position, and it was explained to her that one of the reasons they thought she was deserving of this was because she is a legislative chair for the judicial association while also being in the capitol.

“Even though I am maintaining a full docket and doing everything that I can to keep things running right in Madison, I am in the capitol trying to make the judicial system better and to attract and continue to attract great, quality folks to the bench so that our judicial system can continue to do well,” Nowicki-Eldridge said. “I am extraordinarily touched by the recognition that I never expected.”
