As we head into another election season, the time to reiterate the cry to candidates and to those who work for them regarding the legality of placing campaign signage. Election season brings us every size, shape and color of campaign sign imaginable and these signs have already begun popping up in just about every location one can place a sign and the trend will only continue. They will adorn lawns, roadways, shopping center entrances and rural fields. Truly an economic boom for sign companies, the products tell us all who to vote for in each office.
While an effective campaign tool, especially for those who have so many signs, candidates must remember that there are legal stipulations to posting these lovely “decorations.” According to Department of Transportation website, the law bans political signs from all state rights of way.
Candidates need to be reminded to read these laws that govern political to ensure that their signs are in the appropriate locations.
