Marylouise King receives ashes Wednesday from Pastor Monty Brown at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, in Charleston. For the second year, the church offered the imposition of ashes to those who walked or drove by its Washington Street location. For Christians, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten season that leads up to Easter, which falls on March 27 this year.
