MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — By the end of August, more than 1,300 beds will be filled by WVU students — from freshman to seniors — at the university’s newest residential complex, University Park.
The seven-acre complex, behind the Erickson Alumni Center on the Evansdale Campus, will be open for Resident Assistants (RAs) on Aug. 2 and will start moving in students the weekend of Aug. 14, said Mark J. Nesselroad, an officer of University Park at Evansdale LLC.
The $90 million complex is a public-private partnership between the university and University Park at Evansdale LLC. The LLC will be responsible for the construction and development costs, and the university will manage the complex as on-campus residential housing.
And after the university pays it off, the two entities will enter into a profit-sharing agreement.
Nesselroad said the complex is broken down into three parts: Residence halls, apartments and retail space…
