CLARKSBURG, W.Va — A man charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday on Sardis Road was on a furlough from a state work release center at the time of the crash.
Jeffrey Scott Davis, 32, of Wallace, is serving a term of 3 to 28 years in prison for burglary, grand larceny and attempted grand larceny, according to state Division of Corrections records.
Division of Corrections Commissioner Jim Rubenstein on Monday confirmed Davis was at the Parkersburg Correctional Center work release program, and had been out on a furlough (which typically lasts two nights).
