MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Brookhaven Volunteer Firefighter Josh White is in fair condition in Pittsburgh’s West Penn Burn Center following a Thursday morning blaze that destroyed a Dug Hill Road home.

White was one of two firefighters taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Mon EMS. The other was Brookhaven firefighter Skylar McCormick.

Brookhaven VFD Chief Jimmy Lipscomb was not on duty Thursday but said McCormick was treated for slight burns to his hand and released. He also said White’s burns were not life-threatening, and a hospital spokesperson said he was in fair condition.

“It’s a case where they’re just better suited to treat him in Pittsburgh,” Lipscomb said.

He said he did not know the details of how the firefighters were injured. No other details were available in time for this report.

Three adults living in the home were able to escape without injury.

The house was a total loss…
