West Virginia Secretary of State, Warner, visits Elkins

SOS speaks to Chamber, Girls State

ELKINS, W.Va. — West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner made a trek from Charleston to North Central West Virginia Monday, visiting both Randolph and Lewis counties.

Warner started his day off bright and early as he was the featured guest speaker for the 83rd annual American Legion Mountaineer Boys State, which is being held at historic Jackson’s Mill.

After departing Lewis County and taking part in a flagraising ceremony, Warner made his way to Elkins, where he stopped by the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Office to talk about businesses filing their annual reports on time.

“We are targeting the places that are lower than they have been traditionally,” Warner told The Inter-Mountain Monday morning. “As we are getting closer to the deadline and only 53 percent have filed in Randolph County, we thought maybe we would visit here and kind of remind the people that the deadline is coming up.”
