SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.— Hope, change and unity were on display at Morgan’s Grove Park Friday afternoon as the Democrats of Jefferson County and Shepherd University Young Democrats jointly hosted a rally supporting President Biden’s proposed Build Back Better Plan.
The plan, according to the hosting groups, is aimed at “bringing down costs that have held back facilities in West Virginia for decades by cutting taxes and making child care, home care, education, health care and housing more affordable.”
Among those at the event was Amy Lindsey, the president of the Jefferson County Democratic Association, who noted before the things kicked off that she has an enormous amount of enthusiasm for the plan.
“This could change the course of people’s lives,” she said. “We want to promote a better understanding of it because this would alleviate everything from health care costs to child care costs — and so much more. West Virginia could benefit a lot from this plan.” …
