Register-Herald looking for full-time page designer/graphic artist

BECKLEY, W.Va. — The Register-Herald is looking for a full-time page designer/graphic artist.
The successful candidate will be designing most of the A section with particular attention paid to 1A and the sports front with the occasional opportunity to design covers and spreads for WV South, a glossy monthly magazine.
Additionally, the designer/artist will be intimately involved with a complete redesign of the paper, head to toe. This is a chance to put your creative fingers to work and have a huge impact on a newspaper that is reinventing itself visually.
Additionally, The Register-Herald is realigning newsroom beats to tell the stories and address the issues that define southern West Virginia. Visual storytelling will play a major role in that effort. All of  page design in InDesign. Skills and demonstrated abilities in CS6 are critical.
To apply, send 10 PDF work samples, a resume and letter of application to Damon Cain, editor, at [email protected]. We would like to fill this position sooner rather than later.
