Panel advises West Virginia parents, adults about dangers of human trafficking

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Children and teens across West Virginia are actively being targeted for human trafficking, with most victims becoming vulnerable online, but law enforcement and trained leaders in the region are committed to minimizing the risk.

Human trafficking “is happening here, in our own backyard,” Congressional District Mobilizer Ambassador Sarita Robinson told more than a dozen residents Sunday during a discussion at Immaculate Conception Church’s Parish Center in Clarksburg.
