“Our team produces the biggest, best weekly newspaper in West Virginia for 7 years in a row, runs a robust website and keeps up an active Facebook page,” said editor Jim King. “You need to come in the door with the tools of a 21st Century journalist — solid writing and reporting skills, production ability, an eye for visuals, an understanding of social media, curiosity for and appreciation of the life around you. Know computer apps like Word, InDesign and Photoshop.”
“You need to want to live and work in a sprawling, mountainous county that’s near enough to bigger places, where the motto is “Get ’er done” and the colors are camo. Your hours won’t always be 9-to-5, but your pay will be competitive for the Potomac Highlands (with benefits too),” King added.
