Are voters getting the true Trump?

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Many adjectives have been used to describe Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his campaign style. Generally not heard are comments like “thoughtful,” “intelligent” or “good listener.”

Yet that’s how John McNabb, a Charleston native and energy executive, describes Trump. McNabb is a member of the Trump Leadership Council — whose membership list is confidential, except for those who wish to share their identities — and serves as one of Trump’s key energy advisers. He sat down last week with the Daily Mail Editorial Board to talk about Trump and his policies.

Trump is not the same person we see on TV, according to McNabb. “He’s quiet, he’s charming, he’s a great listener in person,” he said.

That version of Trump might make a good president, but it’s not the side of him voters typically get to see…
