BECKLEY, W.Va. — We know who our new best friend is here in southern West Virginia. It’s Dr. E. Gordon Gee, president of West Virginia University.
Dr. Gee paid us a visit toward the end of last week, gracious enough to spend nearly two hours patiently answering our questions focused primarily on how he sees WVU-Tech playing out here in Beckley, what will happen with the Montgomery campus and how the university and city are working together.
We came away thinking the future certainly looks bright for our neck of the woods. What was abundantly clear, too, was Dr. Gee is an impressive fellow. He is remarkably intelligent and a sharp-minded visionary who doesn’t mince words…
