WESTON, W.Va. — Strolling down Main Street in Weston, an assortment of shops and banks are ready to greet each pedestrian. Of course, once they’ve seen some of those attractions, they get a chance to meet “Blenko-man.”

Inanimate as he is, the life-sized glass figure made of Blenko glass serves as an unofficial mascot of sorts for the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia, greeting visitors to the downtown attraction with a lively wave.

The various pieces of glass are a sneak peek at the diversity that characterizes the collection inside, as the museum is host to 124 different showcases, according to David Bush, treasurer and charter member of the museum’s board of directors.
