HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Let the games begin!

That was the resounding message from Len Rogers during the opening ceremonies for the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region I Championships at Joan C. Edwards Stadium on Thursday.

Rogers, who is chairman of the local organizing committee for championships and president of the West Virginia Soccer Association, has anticipated the return of the event for several years and is eager to get the action underway.

“It’s a great event, and it’s great to have all of these people in West Virginia,” Rogers said. “We have great facilities here, and we’re looking forward to hosting the region’s best teams.”

The 2015 US Youth Soccer Region I Championships begin with games starting at 8 a.m. Friday at the Barboursville Soccer Complex, Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex and Scott Orthopedic Soccer Complex…
