CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The new Charleston Area Medical Center Cancer Center is ready for a grand opening on Saturday when the public is invited to tour the 110,000-square-foot, $50 million facility.
“We are so excited,” said David Ramsey, CAMC president and chief executive officer.
He said the opening marks the end of a decade-long journey since some of the property was initially purchased. It is also a new beginning for staff, patients and families who may experience the healing environment of the state-of-the-art center, he said.
The open house is set for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the CAMC Cancer Center, 3415 MacCorkle Ave. S.E. Visitors will be provided with maps for self-guided tours. However, staff will be on hand at each area to provide information and answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided. At 1:30 p.m. Ramsey will offer opening remarks followed by a release of balloons in the outdoor healing garden, a welcoming area with lots of seating, sidewalks and landscaping.
