New Bluefield nursing facility holds open house

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — The new $12 million Mercer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield hosted an open house Thursday afternoon, showcasing the facility and what it offers.

Opening its doors on Feb. 9, the 56,000-sq.-ft. long-term care and skilled-nursing facility already has 58 residents and should be at its 83-bed full capacity soon.

“Our goal is to be full in the next 30 to 60 days,” said Ann Potter, the center’s director of nursing. “All beds are fully certified to be long-term care or skilled nursing.”
