PIEDMONT, W.Va. — After several months of having the subject of health insurance on the agenda, the Piedmont officials voted at the latest town council meeting to “terminate health insurance for the town workers” effective July 1.
Mayor Ben Smith said the health insurance coverage subject needed to be “nipped in the bud.”
“I don’t want to hurt anyone on the insurance part,” he said, while adding, “We have to survive.”
When the motion was passed to stop the health insurance coverage, Smith said it was done so “with regrets…
