Autopsies of 3 Mercer men don’t indicate homicide

MONTCALM, W.Va. — Autopsies conducted Monday on the three men found dead at a Montcalm residence showed no indications of homicide, Mercer County Sheriff Don Meadows said.

The men, identified as Lesly Joe Hicks, 38, Joseph Dean Hicks, 52, and Ernest David Hicks, 57, were found by a neighbor Friday evening at a Tabernacle Hill home.

“There were no bullet holes, or no trauma to the bodies,” Meadows said Monday afternoon, after attending the autopsies with Sgt. S.A. Sommers, of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. “At this point, it is not so much a homicide but a suspicious death.”

Meadows said they are now awaiting the toxicology reports…
