Mineral County paper announces new publisher

KEYSER, W.Va. — The Mineral Daily News Tribune is proud to announce the addition of a new publisher – Kelly Miller.

A native of Lansing, Michigan, Kelly is at home in the Mountain State, having most recently served as publisher of the Times-West Virginian in Fairmont.

With 20 years in the newspaper business – almost seven of those being in the publisher’s role – she has had extensive experience with small-town newspapers and says that is one of the main things which drew her to Keyser.

“I like small towns, and I loved this area when we came to visit,” she said, adding that becoming publisher of the News Tribune was “an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

She enjoys the atmosphere of small towns, and the unique qualities which help hometown newspapers maintain their place of importance in the community.

“I want to do everything I can to help make the paper as local, as profitable and as viable as possible,” she said.
