WV PSC, trucking group prepare for inspection blitz

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Truck inspection workshops were held Tuesday in preparation of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance 72-hour annual roadcheck inspection blitz June 7-9 throughout the country.

The state Public Service Commission and the West Virginia Trucking Association hosted the informational sessions at the Meadowbrook rest area to guide drivers and motor carriers through a Level 1 inspection, the most comprehensive roadside inspection.

More than 65 truckers pre-registered for the event that emphasized safety and security on the highways. Even more were expected to stop by to learn from the experts how to receive a clean inspection on their records.

“We are out to ensure compliance to promote safety, reduce crashes and ultimately save lives,” said Matthew Eplinger, PSC officer for the Transportation Enforcement Division.
