WV Mountain Party sets sights on governor race

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Mountain Party, the West Virginia affiliate of the Green Party, has a shot at winning the state’s upcoming gubernatorial race in November, according to party leaders.

“I have the best shot at winning the governorship from the Mountain Party since I’m a proven candidate,” said contender Charlotte Pritt, who grew up in Charleston.

Pritt was nominated as the Mountain Party’s gubernatorial candidate during the party’s state convention held in Bridgeport on Saturday.

Pritt will run against Democratic businessman Jim Justice, Republican state Senate President Bill Cole and Libertarian David Moran…
