CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Three big events will be held this weekend to entertain North Central West Virginians: The Greek Food Festival in Clarksburg, the Hotsinpiller 5K in Bridgeport and Amazing Week in Weston.

The Greek Food Festival will be held at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The festival not only allows visitors a chance to eat a plethora of Greek dishes not typically available in the area, but according to event Chairman Steve Sellas, it’s also a way for the local Greek community to share their heritage and their faith.

“It gets the public to know how proud we are of our Greek heritage,” Sellas said. “We also like to showcase our religious beliefs as well, which is why we have it at the church.”

In addition to the typical artisan displays where jewelry and other items can be purchased, Sellas said imported Greek ingredients and cookbooks will be offered so attendees can have the opportunity to prepare authentic Greek cuisine in their own homes.

The Derek Hotsinpiller’s Fallen Stars 5K Race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Wayne Jamison Field on the Bridgeport High School campus…
