Huntington launches anti-discrimination campaign

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — City officials, business owners and community members stood together Thursday to make the statement that the city of Huntington is open to all regardless of sexual orientation, disability, race or religion.

Huntington Mayor Steve Williams made the announcement as he unveiled an “Open to All” campaign at the Visitor Center at Heritage Station.

The campaign was initiated by the Mayor’s LGBT Advisory Committee as a way to promote an inclusive environment for the people of Huntington.

“I am so very proud of the LGBT Advisory Committee who came together with words that mean something and are unique to Huntington,” Williams said. “These words are saying it doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what you look like, where you love or who you love, this town is open to you…
