Greenbrier practice facilities wow Marshall players

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — NFL training camp facilities at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., are so good, they even impressed a former NFL player.

After Marshall University’s football team practiced Saturday at the AdvoCare Performance Center at The Greenbrier, home of the New Orleans Saints training camp, Thundering Herd wide receivers coach Mike Furrey told head coach Doc Holliday that he never experienced such a facility in 10 NFL seasons.

“He said he never had anything like this,” Holliday said. “It’s unbelievable. All our kids dream of playing in a facility like this.”

The opportunity to experience such grandeur whetted the appetite of some Herd players, who hope to reach the NFL and join the likes of Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

“I like the locker room,” junior linebacker Stefan Houston said. “Seeing Drew Brees’ name on a locker in there made it feel like an NFL team. I haven’t been on a grass field like this. I’m loving it…
