Fayette board nixes cross-county student transfers

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — Cross-county student attendance — both those requesting to attend in Fayette and students slated to attend other county schools under the proposed facilities amendment — sparked debate at Tuesday’s Fayette County Board of Education meeting.

The board voted 4-1 against allowing four students from Summers County to attend Meadow Bridge Elementary and one student from Kanawha County to attend Valley High.
