Dominion volunteer blitz revitalizes Jackson’s Mill

JACKSON’S MILL, W.Va. — Dominion Resources employees donated nearly 1,000 hours of work Wednesday to help revitalize Jackson’s Mill before the onset of the upcoming 4-H camping season.

“It was fabulous what they did. It was tremendous, and we are so appreciative,” said Steve Bonanno, dean and director of the WVU Extension Service. “They did all the planning for that on their own.”

Robert Orndorff, senior policy adviser for Dominion, said the company donated over $2,500 to Jackson’s Mill for supplies, and paid 110 of its employees to spend the day revitalizing the grounds.

“What we are attempting to do is get the mill ready for camps this year,” Orndorff said.

Dominion employees split into five crews and worked on landscaping multiple flower beds, painting and repairing a gazebo, rebuilding a stone patio, power washing and painting the amphitheater, as well as installing a water filtration system in the fish pond…
