Coldwater Creek materials to be sold Saturday

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A sale will be taking place Saturday to get rid of a number of items still left at the Coldwater Creek facility in Parkersburg.

The sale will be conducted from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the former Coldwater Creek Clearance Center at Pettyville. The facility is located at the Parkersburg Business Park off Interstate 77.

The sale will feature a number of items that were left at the site after the facility closed earlier this year with the company having to file for bankruptcy, said Gerard El Chaar, who is organizing the sale.

“There is still a lot left,” he said Sunday.

El Chaar was once senior vice president of operations at Coldwater Creek.

Items available will include cardboard boxes, gift boxes, file cabinets, tables, office furniture, clothing racks, hangers and other miscellaneous items.

“There are truckloads of good quality wooden hangers,” El Chaar said adding those will be bunched together and sold by the box.

It will be a direct sale with items priced. People will pay for it and take it home immediately.

“It is not an auction,” El Chaar said. “Everything is priced at a great value, just in time for the holidays.”

Many of the items on sale were specifically picked to take advantage of the season, he said. Things are priced from a few dollars to around $200, El Chaar said.

Money from the sale will go to the Wood County Development Authority, which owns the property.

People are encouraged to come out, look and buy, El Chaar said.

“We welcome everyone,” he said.
