A fifth Cabell County school treated for bedbugs

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Spring Hill Elementary became the latest Cabell County school this year to implement special precautions after bedbugs were found in classrooms this week, said Jedd Flowers, communications director for Cabell County Schools.

Flowers said school officials found a small amount of bedbugs in classrooms Tuesday on one level of the school. The school was vacuumed and sprayed Wednesday evening, but he said the problem was not big enough to warrant closing the school.

“This has not been unusual this school year. They have been on the upswing,” he said. “All we can do (with) this situation is treat it.”
