BECKLEY, W.Va. — After months of preparation, empty parking lots and darkened buildings, the new Beckley campus of West Virginia University Institute of Technology came to life Wednesday.
“You’ve seen these rooms empty,” said WVU Tech Provost Nigel Clark. “Now it’s like you’ve breathed life into this place.”
Cars filled the parking lot that sits by the newly named Life Sciences Building (formerly Wiseman Hall) and the Innovation Building (formerly O’Dell Hall) and the Robert C. Byrd Learning Resource Center. Students began bustling from their cars to their designated class locations.
