BECKLEY, W.Va. — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice is denying any wrongdoing in response to a federal subpoena and slammed a Forbes profile critical of his business dealings as a political hit job.
Justice, scheduled as the featured speaker at the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber annual dinner on Friday night, took time during a Wednesday stop in Fayetteville to discuss federal subpoenas involving The Greenbrier, which he owns, along with Old White Charities, a nonprofit offshoot of the resort.
The subpoena, addressed to the West Virginia Department of Commerce, asks the department to hand over all records it has involving The Greenbrier, The Greenbrier Classic, A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier and Old White Charities.
