BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Upshur County has been hit hard by the downturn in the energy market with the second major layoff announcement in less than six weeks.
DeepWell Energy Services in Buckhannon plans to lay off up to 177 employees in the Traffic Control Department after Sept. 1, Human Resources Manager Justin Brummage confirmed.
Brummage declined to elaborate and referred questions to the corporate office. A message for comment and an email request were not immediately returned.
